Hydrogen Purification
HISTORY:
Anco Catalysts Ltd has for over 30 years specialised in the production of catalyst for the purification of hydrogen.
Anco supplies a range of palladium catalysts that will remove the oxygen to form steam.
The steam can be subsequently removed if required by a dryer unit.
2H2 + O2 → 2H2O + HEAT
APPLICATIONS:
H2 is used to manufacture a wide range of products,such as chemicals,fertilisers,refined metals,lubricants,rocket fuel etc.
The future of H2 is very promising as it appears to be the best choice of our future energy supplies,where it is the cleanest of fuel options,and it has huge potential in its link with renewable energy sources,such as wind,water and
geothermal. Fuel cell technology requires an O2 free H2 gas.
H2 is generated commercially by:-
-Steam Reforming of natural gas or other hydrocarbons.
-Electrolysis of water
RANGE OF CATALYSTS
We offer a range of catalysts to meet customers’ requirements.
DS2 – 0.2% palladium
DSL2 – 0.2% palladium
DS3 – 0.3% palladium
D5 – 0.5% palladium
The most popular catalyst supplied is DS2 due to its availability and price.
PURIFICATION
The catalyst can achieve less than 1 ppm oxygen.
Less than 0.5ppm can be achieved by using multiple stages of catalyst beds in series.
